In the middle of the music, leave me alone

1:16 am: it’s Saturday and I’m still up listening to a new playlist that I found on Spotify. The old playlists can get annoying at times and the mind requires something new. I’m human and constantly have the urge to discover new music. Music is one of the link between the soul and body. Random fact about the word “music”, it originates from the Greek word “mousiké”.

The word refers to the art of the muses. If we read about Greek mythology, we will discover that there were 9 muses who were known as goddesses that brought forth literature, science, and art that spawned basic poetry and lyrics, evolving into what we know as music now. The 9 muses were: “Calliope (epic poetry), Clio (history), Erato (love poetry, lyric art), Euterpe (music, especially flute), Melpomene (tragedy), Polymnia (hymns), Terpsichore (dance), Thalia (comedy), Urania (astronomy).”
